Morgan County EMA is passing out NOAA All Hazard Radios

Morgan County Emergency Management is passing out NOAA All Hazard Radios to residents of Morgan County. The purpose of this project is to get these radios in mobile homes or those homes that might not be able to afford them otherwise. We have approximatelty 30 radios at Morgan County EMA, 25 radios at the Paragon Fire Dept and 25 radios at the Brooklyn Fire Dept. Instructions are included with the radio on how it operates and how to program it, also you must purchase the batteries for the radio, without the batteries it makes the radio non-operable when the power goes off. Only one radio per household allowed.. The Midland WR-120 All Hazard Alert Radio: All Hazards means the radio is the fastest, most reliable means of receiving information on life threatening weather such as tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, winter storms, ice storms as well as civil emergencies such as Amber alerts, hazaradous explosions, fire and chemical spills. This information is broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can stay informed no matted what time of days it is. It has the function of S.A.M.E.(Specific Area Message Encoding) This give you the opportunity of screening out unwanted broadcastsand receiving alerts only specifically targeted for the geographical area you live in. These radio are first come first serve and are a limited supply so if you meet the criteria for receiving a radio, please make sure you get to one of the locations mentioned above, before they are gone.
